History Of Godfrey® Boats

In 1958, Godfrey Marine made history when it introduced the first all-aluminum pontoon boat (called the Sanpan) at the World’s Fair in Chicago. More than just a proof of concept, the Sanpan had modern features like upholstery with protective covers, pressure-treated decks, a convertible canopy, and enclosed outboard motor compartments. This firmly established the company as an industry leader, and operations quickly expanded from there.
